Danish Modern Shingle Home

This home was designed for a couple with an affinity for Cape Cod style architecture and modern design. Our architectural partners, split the home into two separate, but attached, structures, mirroring a traditional, New England style “saltbox.” The Southern box is at a higher elevation, and where daily, core functions of the home happen.

Entertaining or relaxing in the living room which has a sloped ceiling and white oak slatted gable wall, as well as the kitchen, which boasts Henry Built kitchen cabinetry, whose function and design are predicated on simplicity, consistency and functionality. Separating the “boxes” is a modern glass prism containing a floating stair with slatted wood screen wall. The leads to the Northern box containing the private bedrooms or a continued ascent leads to the third floor revealing a shared studio space.
